What Happened to the Amazon App Referral Program
Back when this page was first written, opening the Amazon Shopping app’s menu would show a “Programs and Features” section with a “Refer a friend, you each get $5” option, where you’d enter a friend’s code (or share your own) to get $5 credit on your next order. Amazon has since removed that referral program from the app entirely — there’s no “Have a Referral Code?” field to enter LUCY9569N or any other code into anymore, because the feature itself is gone, not just our specific code.
We can’t point you to an official Amazon announcement explaining the change — companies don’t always publicize when they quietly retire a promotion — but the referral menu item is gone from the current app, and we haven’t been able to find any working version of it anywhere.
If you were hoping for a way to earn cash back or credit on your Amazon shopping, a shopping-rewards app is the closer modern equivalent, even though it’s not literally an Amazon program. We keep current, working codes for a few of these:
