What happened to Drizly?

Drizly was one of the original on-demand alcohol delivery apps, letting people order beer, wine, and liquor from local stores and get it delivered in under an hour — this page used to promote a $5-off referral code for it. Ordering through Drizly required buyers to be 21+, like any alcohol delivery service. Uber Technologies bought Drizly in early 2021 for roughly a billion dollars, planning to run it alongside Uber Eats. That plan changed: in early 2024, Uber announced it was shutting Drizly down as a standalone app and brand, moving alcohol delivery into Uber Eats directly instead. Drizly officially stopped taking orders that year, and its site and referral system no longer function.
