If Uber is the taxi for the masses, Gett is trying to target the 1%. They only drive fancy black cars and promise you never have to experience surge pricing. It’s too early to tell if their bid for the elite is paying off, but it’s definitely worth a try using the Gett coupon code.
My Gett Review:
The Gett taxi/black car service is heavily pushed in NYC. However, it is actually available in quite a few cities around the world, such as London, Moscow, Manchester and cities in Israel. Gett seems to think competing with Lyft or Uber is a lost cause, and thus have changed up their business model. They now target a select clientele who wants to drive in style, preferring a black car to any other color. They also state that they never charge a surge, their price remaining the same no matter what time of day. It sounds like a great gig, but will it actually work?
A few months ago I was actually traveling to NYC for a business trip so I decided to put Gett to the test. I downloaded the Gett app before I took off, and entered all my account information. After that I entered the Gett Coupon Code [gett] (worth £50 off your first ride!). Then I was flying across the US, ready to take on the big apple.
When I arrived I resisted the urge to call a Lyft and instead opened my Gett app. I put the dropper down and tried to call a car but it gave me an error, asking me to enter the nearest numbered address. I asked around the airport if anyone knew a specific number, but all I got were blank stares. Guess I could have called a Lyft or Uber at this point, but I needed to follow this through.
I called Gett and was very quickly put in contact with a customer service rep. They very quickly organized for a black car to come and get me. But they didn’t offer me a solution for the problem in the future. The car came in no time, and it was a very nice ride. The price of the trip wasn’t too bad—a bit more than Uber, but not by much.
After a long day in the city I decided to head out to a bar. I opened Gett up and tried to summon a vehicle. I stood on the curb waiting for a good thirty minutes before giving up and calling a Lyft.
Moral of the story: There is probably something good about surge. If you don’t mind about the price, you know you will at least get a ride. I wasn’t the happiest camper about being stuck waiting on a curb for 30 minutes. Especially when calling an Uber or Lyft the longest I have had to wait in NYC is five minutes…at the longest.
I had a few drinks and decided to give Gett one more chance for the purpose of this review. My flight was at 6:50 AM the next morning and I called to have a car waiting to take me to the airport at 4:30. I wanted to give myself a few minutes to call a Lyft in case everything went wrong. The next day rolled around far too quickly and I left my hotel to find a black car waiting out front. It was a great ride to the airport and everything about the car and driver was immaculate.
Gett has a lot going for it, but it also has a lot of problems too. They do have good drivers and cars, but they don’t seem to have the On-Demand aspect down. But thats just my two cents, why not try it out for yourself! Use Gett Coupon Code [gett] and get $50 off your first ride.
