Is Radish Chicago Still Around?
That’s our original Radish promo graphic. Radish itself is gone — kept here for the record, not as a live offer.
No. GoRadish launched in 2015 delivering chef-prepared, full-course meals across Chicago for $10 each, and raised about $2 million doing it — but the economics of on-demand meal delivery proved brutal, and Radish abruptly halted deliveries in October 2016. By December 2016, smart-kitchen company Tovala had acquired Radish’s technology (no Radish employees came with the deal), and started rolling some of Radish’s most popular dishes into its own menu.
We confirmed the shutdown three ways: goradish.com now redirects straight to a generic Tovala marketing page with no mention of Radish at all; there’s no Radish app anywhere in the App Store; and Radish’s old Chicago storefront is listed as permanently “CLOSED” on Yelp. That’s a clear, multi-source confirmation — this one’s been gone for close to a decade.

Try Home Chef Instead
If what drew you to Radish was “real, chef-designed meals with local roots,” Home Chef is our closest live equivalent — it’s also a Chicago-founded meal company, just working nationwide now via meal kits and, in some markets, oven-ready and grab-and-go options rather than 20-minute courier delivery. Sign up through our Home Chef link for a discount on your first order, verified working as of this session.

What Radish Used to Offer
For the record: Radish delivered full, chef-driven meals — not just ingredients to cook yourself — for $10 apiece, in under 20 minutes, using BPA-free and compostable packaging and grass-fed, free-range, pesticide-free ingredients. The HIRGI100 code took $10 off, making your first meal free. It only ever operated in Chicago and never expanded before shutting down.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Radish HIRGI100 code still work?
No. Radish stopped delivering in December 2016 after being acquired by Tovala, and there’s no app left to enter the code into.
What happened to Radish?
The on-demand meal delivery economics didn’t work out. Smart-oven company Tovala acquired Radish’s technology in December 2016; no Radish staff joined, and the original app was shut down.
What’s a good replacement for Radish now?
Home Chef is our top pick — also Chicago-founded, chef-designed meals, currently active with a working referral discount.
Did Radish ever expand outside Chicago?
No — it stayed Chicago-only for its entire run before shutting down.
