What Shop Spring Used to Be

Spring (branded “Shop Spring”) was a mobile shopping app that pulled fashion items for men, women, and kids from a huge range of brands into one storefront, organized into fun themed collections — “Bonfire,” “Concert in the Park,” that kind of thing — instead of just plain categories. Its “promo code” was really a referral link: click through, get $20 off your first purchase, and the discount reset every 7 days if you re-clicked it. Sharing your own link could earn you additional $20 credits from friends who used it too.

By several accounts, Spring shut down its original shopspring.com storefront back in 2018 and relaunched as an iOS app called District. ShopRunner then acquired the Spring/District business in 2019, folding it into ShopRunner’s own marketplace push. That didn’t last either — ShopRunner (by then owned by FedEx) shut down its website and app entirely, effective January 31, 2026, taking District down with it.
