Spud.com Reviews
I went through a crazy Spud.com ordering phase about 6 months ago, and then I sorta went into a pre-made food delivery phase (like delivery.com), but now I’m back to ordering Spud and cooking up a storm.
Spud is essentially like an online grocery store that is also a farmer’s market. All the produce and products are coming from local farms (near either LA or SF), so you know they are super fresh, organic, and are going to be top quality.
I’ve ordered probably 10+ times from them, and each time, the food is delivered in a timely way (they send either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday each week, you gotta make sure your order is placed in time for delivery the same week). Everything is absolutely amazing—they never send anything that is over-ripe or bruised, and the meat is always packaged really well with ice packs, and looks so ready-to-cook that I pretty much fire up my grill instantly.
Their customer service is also top-notch, if you ever have to contact them. I was in touch once about their referral program, and they got back to me at the speed of lightning—it was very impressive.
Overall, A+ experience, I will be ordering again (and again)!
Spud.com is currently sending local produce to:
- San Francisco
- Los Angeles
The low number of markets is due to the fact that all of the food comes directly from local farms, and San Francisco and Los Angeles are the places where Spud.com has developed farmer relationships so far. It looks like they are doing really well, so keep your eyes on their site for new markets opening up!
