What Was Student Advantage?
Student Advantage was a discount membership card aimed at college students. Cardholders got weekly emails with deals and exclusive discounts at retailers, restaurants, and services, then showed or scanned their Student Advantage card in-store or online to activate the savings.
The referral program worked like a lot of “give a friend, get a friend” setups: sign up through someone’s link, and both the new member and the referrer would be eligible for a $10 cash bonus once the new membership was active.

- The refer.studentadvantage.com subdomain that powered the $10 referral bonus no longer resolves to anything (DNS lookup fails), which is consistent with the referral program being shut down along with new memberships.
- We found no announcement giving an exact shutdown date, so treat “no longer selling” as the most recent confirmed status rather than a hard end date.
If you already have a Student Advantage card, the company’s site indicates existing benefits and support are still reachable — just not new memberships or the referral bonus this page was built around.
