Uber and Lyft in Napa Valley
Both apps have plenty of drivers up and down Napa Valley these days, from downtown Napa through Yountville, St. Helena, and Calistoga. Lyft’s still our favorite way to get around wine country — the app is easy to use and drivers tend to know the tasting-room circuit well. That said, Lyft doesn’t advertise one fixed nationwide discount anymore; the offer you see at signup (sometimes a flat credit, sometimes a percentage) is what applies, so treat any old dollar figure you’ve seen elsewhere as historical rather than guaranteed.
Uber runs the same way — request through the app as you would in any city, and new riders get whatever current discount Uber is showing at signup via code UBERHOTVALUE.
The same Lyft and Uber codes work in Sonoma — you don’t need separate ones for each valley. Sonoma has fewer drivers circulating than Napa does, but you’ll find both apps reliably active around Sonoma Plaza and especially closer to Santa Rosa, the county’s largest city (we’ve got a dedicated Lyft Santa Rosa page with more detail if that’s your home base for the trip).

What Happened to BeMyDD?
This page used to recommend BeMyDD as a third option — the appeal was that a BeMyDD driver drove your own car, so you’d have it back at the end of the night instead of leaving it at a tasting room. We can no longer find BeMyDD operating: its old domain no longer hosts anything resembling the original service, and we couldn’t find a current BeMyDD app in the App Store. We’re not linking to it anymore. If having your own car matters to you, Dryver offers a similar “drives your car” service — our sister site TopDownReviews has a Dryver review, though we can’t currently confirm their referral discount is active, so check current terms directly with Dryver before counting on a specific amount.

Rideshare driving in Napa and Sonoma is more of a part-time gig than a full-time living — ridership is lighter than in a big city — but it’s a solid way to pick up extra cash, especially around wine-tasting weekends, Charles M. Schulz–Sonoma County Airport (STS) traffic, and the after-dinner rides nobody wants to make themselves. There’s nothing stopping you from driving for both apps to fill gaps in either one’s demand.
- Sign up to drive for Uber here (code hbx1arsque) — Uber sets its new-driver bonus by trip count and dollar amount per city rather than one number for everyone, so check what’s shown to you at signup rather than any old figure.
- Sign up to drive for Lyft here for its own current city-specific new-driver bonus.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do Uber and Lyft actually operate in Napa and Sonoma?
Yes, both run full rideshare service throughout Napa Valley and Sonoma County, including around Santa Rosa. Coverage is lighter than in a major city, especially late at night in smaller towns, but both apps are reliably active.
Is BeMyDD still available in wine country?
We don’t believe so. BeMyDD’s old website no longer shows anything resembling the original service, and we couldn’t find a current app listing for it. We’ve removed our link and recommend Uber, Lyft, or Dryver instead.
Is the Lyft discount really $50 like this page used to say?
Not guaranteed. Lyft moved away from one flat nationwide number years ago — new riders now see whatever discount Lyft is currently offering at signup, which can vary. Code WNY still gets you into that current offer.
Can I use the same codes in both Napa and Sonoma?
Yes — these aren’t city-specific codes. Lyft code WNY and Uber code UBERHOTVALUE work anywhere either app operates in the US, wine country included.
Grab code WNY.
