How Yotta’s Referral Program Works
Yotta’s referral setup is two-sided. As a new user, entering a referral code like ours (BONUS100) at signup adds bonus tickets to your account before you’ve deposited anything. Once you’re set up, the app assigns you your own personal referral code, which lives in the Rewards or Refer a Friend section of the app. Share that code with friends and family, and when they sign up and fund an account, both sides typically pick up extra tickets — the same mechanic working in reverse.
If you’re already a Yotta user without a referral code applied, our code won’t retroactively apply — the referral code has to go in at signup. But it’s still worth finding your own code in the app and sharing it, since that side of the program is ongoing rather than a one-time signup perk.
Yotta is a prize-linked savings app (listed on the App Store as “Yotta: Play and Win”) with more than 900,000 users and an actively maintained app. Rather than paying a fixed interest rate, it converts your balance into tickets for weekly cash-prize drawings, on top of standard savings features like themed “Buckets” and a debit card.

Before you refer anyone or deposit real money, know the backstory: Yotta was among the fintechs hit by the 2024 bankruptcy of Synapse Financial Technologies, its former banking middleman. A ledger mismatch between Synapse and its partner banks locked roughly 13,725 Yotta customers out of about $64.9 million combined, and only around 18% of that had been returned by late 2024. Yotta has since moved to bank directly with Evolve Bank & Trust and Thread Bank instead of routing through Synapse. Deposits do carry pass-through FDIC insurance through those partner banks — but Yotta itself isn’t a bank, and the Synapse episode is proof that pass-through coverage isn’t foolproof. Share the referral program with friends, sure, but be straight with them about keeping balances reasonable.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where do I find my own Yotta referral code?
Inside the app, under the Rewards or Refer a Friend section, once you’ve completed signup. It’s generated automatically for every account.
Can I apply a referral code after I’ve already signed up?
No — referral codes generally need to be entered during the signup flow. If you’re already an existing user, our BONUS100 code won’t apply retroactively.
Is Yotta FDIC-insured?
Deposits get pass-through FDIC insurance via partner banks Evolve Bank & Trust and Thread Bank, not directly from Yotta. That structure broke down for thousands of Yotta users during the 2024 Synapse Financial Technologies collapse, so it’s worth understanding the limits before you or a friend deposits a large balance.
Is Yotta still around in 2026?
Yes, it’s actively operating with over 900,000 users and regular app updates, and it has since moved its banking relationship directly to Evolve and Thread Bank after the Synapse collapse.
