Split Pay Referral Code: What We Verified
As of October 2026, Split Pay’s referral help page says that when a new customer signs up through a member’s link and their first payment settles, “both of you get rewarded” with a free month, and that it’s “delivered as a $50 Tremendous gift card (a virtual Visa) — not as a waived fee on your account.” The invite page itself says “Your first month is free” and lists the price as “$9.99 + 1.5% per month — after your free first month.” Those describe the same reward two ways. The help page’s version is the one to plan around.
Split Pay’s pages also describe the $9.99 two ways. The help center calls it a flat fee per bill you split. The App Store listing says “$9.99/month,” and the terms, updated October 9, 2026, allow for a monthly membership fee that’s charged “regardless of whether you use an eligible Split Pay payment plan during a particular month.” We couldn’t confirm which one a new account gets. Split Pay says the exact fee appears on the approval screen before you commit, so read that screen.

Who Can Use Split Pay, and the Fine Print
- You need a US checking account and a Visa or Mastercard debit card. Savings accounts, Discover cards and Privacy.com cards aren’t supported, and TD Bank can’t be used to apply right now.
- Your landlord, lender or servicer has to accept bank (ACH) payments. Split Pay names Zillow’s rental portal as one that doesn’t.
- Split Pay may cover less than half. Its help center says some people start with Split Pay covering as little as 30%, going up 5% each month you pay on time, to a maximum of 50%. The fee is the same either way.
- Paying a landlord directly takes 3 to 5 business days. Through a rent portal the payment goes when the portal pulls it. If you pay your landlord by Zelle or check today, schedule early.
- One bill at a time. To switch from rent to a car payment you pay off the current split, cancel the plan and apply again.
- Use it or reapply. You have 60 days after accepting to make your first split, and each split keeps you eligible for another 60 days.

What the Split Pay Free Month Is Worth
You still pay the first month’s fee, and the $50 comes back to you afterward. On $1,500 rent the fee is $32.49, so the gift card covers it and leaves you $17.51. On a $2,400 mortgage the fee is $45.99, and you’re $4.01 ahead. The $50 covers the whole fee on any bill up to about $2,667. Above that, the fee runs past $50 and the gift card covers most of it.
